The sixth book published by the Pontifical University faculty this semester was recently launched at the end of a research seminar. After an introduction by Professor Michael Mullaney, Dr Garrick Allen (Dublin City University) spoke about the volume: Intertextual Explorations in Deuterocanonical and Cognate Literature (Berlin: de Gruyter, 2019). The book was edited by Jeremy Corley (Maynooth) and Geoffrey Miller (St Louis).

The essays in the book show how the latest or deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament relate to a wide variety of texts produced before and after their composition. The final section on the Book of Tobit explores links with the prophet Amos and the Acts of the Apostles, examines a medieval Hebrew retelling of the story, and makes connections with the justice teaching of Pope Francis.
