Last month, a book of essays, which emerged from an international conference on Priestly Formation held at Maynooth in late 2017, was published by Liturgical Press Minnesota. The volume, entitled Models of Priestly Formation: Assessing the Past, Reflecting on the Present, and Imagining the Future, was edited by Declan Marmion, Michael Mullaney and Salvador Ryan.
The Irish Catholic newspaper recently featured a two-page spread on the topics of the evolution of the seminary model from the sixteenth century, and the most pressing issues which face those involved in priestly training today. The articles were written by Prof. Declan Marmion, Dean of Theology and Professor of Systematic Theology, and Prof. Salvador Ryan, Professor of Ecclesiastical History.
