The Faculty of Theology is delighted to welcome the British New Testament Society to Maynooth and its environs for its 2017 conference, from the evening of August 31 to the afternoon September 2. The 2017 conference will be preceded, on Thursday, August 31, by a Conference Fringe with visits to the Chester Beatty Library and the Book of Kells.

Situated 24 km West of Dublin city centre, and with good suburban rail and bus links, a visit to Dublin’s Chester Beatty Library (home of the eponymous papyri) and to the Old Library of Trinity College (which houses the Book of Kells) make for an interesting day out. Participants in the Conference Fringe will travel directly by private coach to the Chester Beatty Library, visit the collections. Afterwards they will walk to Trinity College (1km; 12 minutes) to visit the Book of Kells and the Long Room of the Old Library. Return to Maynooth is by suburban rail from nearby Pearse Station.
