Monsignor Hugh Connolly warmly welcomes decision to honour the Irish Sisters of Mercy

Monsignor Hugh Connolly has warmly welcomed a decision by the Trustees of the Pontifical University at St Patrick’s College Maynooth to confer a Doctorate in Philosophy, honoris causa, on the Congregational Leader of the Sisters of Mercy by way of honouring the immense contribution of that entire congregation to the mission of the Church both in Ireland and abroad.

 The Pontifical University at St. Patrick’s College Maynooth plans to host an honours ceremony in the autumn, close to the end of the ‘Year of Mercy’.  It is envisaged that the Doctorate honoris causa will be presented on that occasion.
