The closing date for expressions of interest to participate in the Erasmus+ (study abroad) scheme for 2018/2019 is 30thJanuary.  Should you be interested in applying to study abroad at one of our partner colleges, please complete an “Expression of Interest” form and return it to admissions@spcm.ie by 5pm on 30thJanuary

Studying abroad as part of your degree is a fantastic opportunity to extend your studies and will boost your CV, making you even more attractive to your future employer. After successfully completing your studies abroad you will be awarded with a B.A. International degree. Online language support and summer intensive courses are available. Those who currently have a grant can maintain this grant. An Erasmus+ grant is also payable to participants. The amount of this grant depends on which the country opted for, but is generally in the region of €2,000.

St Patrick's College currently has 27 partners in countries including Belgium Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. The following universities deliver lectures in English however:

University of Leuven, Belgium
University of Palacky, Czech Republic
University of Helsinki, Finland
University of Malta
University of Ljubljana, Slovenia

Below is an extract from an email received from one of our students in Belgium:

“I would seriously recommend this year to anyone and everyone, their teaching comes from a different perspective than Maynooth and so while covering the same subjects it gives you a broader outlook.  Also the vast numbers of people attending form all over the world with different religions and cultures also help to widen your experience of theology but also your cultural experience…. I could not recommend it enough”.

You can also read what two SPCM graduates, Yvonne and Jennifer, have said about their Erasmus Experience under the heading “My Erasmus Experience”.

More information can be found in the current Kalendarium, see Chapter 2, pages 59-61. You may also be interested in reading the Erasmus Charter.

Completing an “Expression of Interest” form does not commit you to anything - you are simply expressing an interest.  Nor does it guarantee that you will be selected to go on Erasmus.
