The Student Assistance Fund is co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014-2020.

The fund is available to students who require additional financial support to enable them to benefit fully from their third level studies. Registered students do not necessarily need to be grant-holders to apply for funding. It simply offers a limited amount of financial support to students who experience financial difficulties related to the costs of their studies.

The funding is available to all full-time registered students of the Pontifical University. Application is made through the Access Office in Maynooth University.
